Ky. woman charged with murder after mom's dismembered body found | whas11.com

MOUNT OLIVET, Ky. — A Kentucky woman accused of brutally killing and dismembering her mother is now facing new charges.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) arrested Torilena May Fields, 32, last week after her mother's dismembered body was found outside a home on Brierly Ridge Road in Mount Olivet.

Troopers also found charred body parts inside a stainless steel pot that was “still warm to the touch” in the kitchen’s oven.

Fields was expected to be in court Monday for arraignment, however according to our ABC affiliate in Cincinnati, WCPO, she wasn’t there because she had not yet been served a new indictment with additional charges.

According to the new indictment filed Monday, Fields is now charged with murder and torture of a dog. She’s also charged with abusing a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and obstructing governmental operations.

KSP said Tuesday the state medical examiner's office is still working to identify the body. However, the indictment accuses Torilena of fatally shooting her mother, Trudy Fields, and then stabbing her multiple times prior to dismembering the body.

Trudy's niece, Olivia Brock, and two of the victim's siblings were at Monday's court hearing. The family said they are still grappling with the gruesome details of the homicide.

Brock told WCPO that Torilena was a talented person and athlete who was raised on the farm, but later moved to California to pursue an acting career. She said Torilena landed roles in a few low-budget films but suffered a severe brain injury in a motorcycle crash a few months ago and couldn't remember her name or knew where she was.

"I guess there were people trying to get her help down there but just couldn't get it done," Brock said. "That's when Trudy stepped in to help."

Two contractors, hired by Trudy to do work on the property, alerted KSP to the grisly scene in Robertson County last Wednesday after no one came to the door when they knocked.

Authorities said there were drag marks leading out behind the house where the body, believed to be Trudy, was found – her arms, legs and head removed. There was also a blood-soaked mattress folded in half next to the body, which contained multiple severed body parts and organs.

The contractors told KSP they had last seen Trudy the day before and said Torilena was "casting spells on them and being confrontational."

"Witchcraft, fingernails and just do different stuff. Whatever witchcraft is but I heard she was into it, yeah," Trudy's brother, Todd Brock, told WCPO. "I think somebody lost control of their mind. Had to have something planned out or satanism or had their brain washed."

The family said Trudy was Christian woman who upheld the highest morals for herself and others. Olivia said it's a difficult situation for the entire family.

"Obviously everybody's angry and confused as to why but how do you say, 'I'm so sad and I want justice for my family member, but I'm so sad because is my other family member not OK?'" she explained.

The Brocks said despite the horrific nature of the alleged crime, they will "never stop loving [Torilena]."

"We don't disown people, no matter what you've done. We love and that's what God says," Diana Brock, Trudy's sister, said. "You know you love no matter what, unconditionally and we just support the family and that's what we're trying to do."

A Harrison County judge has set Torilena Fields’ bond at $1.5 million.
